Ganadores de los Video Game Awards (VGX) 2013
Los VGX 2013, previamente conocidos como los Video Game Awards y rebautizados en honor a su décimo aniversario, presentaron a los ganadores en las diferentes categorías nominadas con los títulos más destacados del presente año, entre las que se encontraban mejor juego del año, de Xbox, de PlayStation y de Nintendo, entre otras.
Incluyendo mejor banda sonora, estudio y actores de voz, Grand Theft Auto 5 participó con nueve nominaciones (llevándose el premio mayor a mejor juego del año), mientras que BioShock Infinite tuvo ocho y The Last of Us siete. Con respecto a este último, vale destacar que tanto Troy Baker (Joel) como Ashley Johnson (Ellie) consiguieron su reconocimiento, lo cual dice mucho de la buena actuación de sus protagonistas.
Además de los respectivos ganadores, durante los VGX se presentó material adicional de juegos como Titanfall, Thief, The Witcher 3, Destiny y The Division. Además, Telltale Games, los mismos detrás de la exitosa adaptación de The Walking Dead, anunciaron dos nuevos juegos basados en los universos de Game of Thrones y Borderlands.
En el caso de Nintendo, su anuncio fue prácticamente decepcionante pues solo se trataba de un título ya conocido, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, solo con la novedad de Cranky Kong como personaje jugable.
